Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
With the closing of the Summer holidays for school age children, I pray that all have remained faithful to their spiritual lives during this season. How easy it is to get carried away by the worldly ways when the beautiful weather arrives, therefore forgetting to set a few moments aside everyday to praise and thank the Lord for His infinite goodness.
I would like to take a moment to share with you a visible manifestation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the spiritual work of the Catholic Doors Ministry. Back in May, our daily logs indicated that the number of visitors jumped drastically from the previous months. As we all know, the month of May is the month of Mary. As of June, the number of visitors dropped slightly and levelled off, not changing until August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On that date, the number of visitors increased by 30% overnight.
Then, on August 22nd, the Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the number of visitors took another jump, presently remaining at that level. Since the Catholic Doors Ministry began its spiritual work, it has been noticed that the Feasts of Mary draw more visitors to the website than any other Feasts during the year. Does this Marian manifestation not affirm the words of Mary that are found in the Holy Bible, "Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed." [Lk. 1:48]
Now, one might state, "That is because of the number of webpages that the Catholic Doors Ministry has on the subject of the Virgin Mary, visitors being drawn to those pages." Correction! The visitors are not only drawn to the webpages related to the Virgin Mary, nor enter the website through those pages, but rather, they are drawn to ALL the different spiritual material that is found on the website of the Catholic Doors Ministry. As such, it can be concluded that the Virgin Mary is NOT drawing the visitors to herself, but rather to spiritual material, especially the Word of God that is found in the homilies that are made available on the website.
During the month of August, there has not been a great expansion in the variety of spiritual material being made available. Most of the time involved the typing of the Manual, "The Beautiful Teachings Of The Catholic Church." This project is just about completed, leaving mostly the graphics to add, the introduction, the imprimatur and similar work at the beginning of the Manual. This 1906 Copyright book is very rich in information regarding the Sacraments of the Catholic Church. Its presentation will answer a lot of questions that the ministry has been receiving by email personal inquiries. Now, inquiries will be directed to the appropriate section of the manual for their answers.

All the September Sundays and Holy Days homilies are now completed and uploaded. You may view them at, http://www.catholicdoors.com/homilies/index.htm
The Catholic Doors Ministry has added a new page that lists all the Holy Days homilies in alphabetic order. This page is of special interest for those who may be searching a homily on a specific subject. You may view this new webpage at, http://www.catholicdoors.com/homilies/archives.htm
In response to those who do not like to visit websites that uses frames such as our index in the left column, a link has been placed on the bottom of the right handed main page that directs visitors to the left column webpage. Those entering the website through that page only view the left column. To use this service, go to, file removed.
Also, the left column index was reorganized. The subjects are now in alphabet order, making it easier to find them.
The September, 2000 Liturgical Calendar that is being used in Canada was added to the website in early August. Please see, http://www.catholicdoors.com/liturgy/index.htm
There has been a few headaches during the month of August with the public Forum (Bulletin Board). Some pagans and Jehovah Witnesses have taken the liberty of adding some anti-Catholic and anti- Christian material in the Forum. As such, this required removing those pages and listing the URL of the undesirables on the list of banned users so they can no longer add material to the Forum. If this problem persists, a password will be added to the Forum. Those wishing to add comments to it will be required to request the password by email prior to posting their questions or answers. Let's see how the next month goes!
A new service has been added during August. Those wishing to add their Roman Catholic Website to our links page may do so by going to (This service has been discontinued). There, they can enter the information in the appropriate category and their website will be automatically listed, without their having to write to the Catholic Doors Ministry with a request to have a link placed on our website.
The Catholic Doors Ministry has expanded the webpage that offers a variety of Catholic News from around the world. Now, visitors have a greater choice of news to choose from. See http://www.catholicdoors.com/news.htm
The number of Prayers Requests for spiritual and worldly needs has greatly increased during the month of August. Each one is answered personally within a couple of days. Prayer Requests can be submitted by sending an email to Our New Email Address or by using the form at http://www.catholicdoors.com/form.htm.
This covers most of the activities of the Catholic Doors Ministry during the month of August. Now, you must be wondering what's next? Hopefully, in September, the following shall be added:
1) Java Applet electronic postcards. Visitors will now be able to send a holy cards with moving water in front of it and possibly other kinds. The Catholic Doors Ministry is presently reviewing this and has received the necessary codes to implement it.
2) Spiritual Prose. At present, the Catholic Doors Ministry offers spiritual prose in its "Way of the Cross" and as an addition for those who send electronic postcards. These pieces of prose that were written during the 1990's have been very popular. If time allows it, about 50 of these pieces will be listed on a separate webpage by itself for visitors to read them and reflect upon them.
More expansion is planned, but it has not been decided yet as to what will come first.
Of concern at this time is the absolute necessity to raise $1,500.00 in Canadian Funds ($1,070.00/US) to keep the website on the Internet for another year after February, 20001. There is a necessity to raise funds to re-register the Domain Name, pay for the large amount of provider space we are using to offer all our spiritual material, and the fee for monthly Internet Access. These costs quickly add up. If we are unable to raise this money, the website will have to be moved to free space that is flooded with commercial banners, our ministry not having any control over what kind of banners are posted from week to week. I pray that the Immaculate Heart of Mary will touch some generous hearts so they will bless the Catholic Doors Ministry with financial assistance to continue her spiritual work.
This closes the Summer by updating you regarding the latest development at the Catholic Doors Ministry. I ask for your continued prayers for this ministry of evangelizing that seeks the glory of God. My daily humble prayers are with you, asking the Lord Jesus to bless you all abundantly in your needs, especially in your spiritual needs, so when our earthly pilgrimage comes to an end, we will all meet in Heaven to rejoice in the eternal love of the Lord.
In the love of Jesus and Mary,
Fr. Maurice Levesque
