- What does it mean to be "pure of heart?"
- What does the Bible say on this matter? "How can young people keep their way pure? By guarding it according to Your Word." [Ps. 119:9] (Meaning "By guarding it according to the Word of God.")
- Did Jesus not say, "It is what comes out of a person that defiles. For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions comes: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things from from within, and they defile a person." [Mk. 7:20-23]
- Will I see God if I do not have a pure heart?
- How true are the words of Jeremiah, "The heart is devious above all else; it is perverse - who can understand it?" [Jeremiah 17:9]
- Do I pray to God for a pure heart?
- Do I fast for strenght?
- Do I strive to have a pure imagination, pure thoughts, pure words, make pure decisions, have pure desires?
- How can I know what God loves and desires if I do not have a pure heart?
- Was I baptized to receive the promise gift of God that is found in the Book of Ezekiel? "Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you." [Ezekiel 36:26-27]
- Have I received the Sacrament of COnfession lately to cleanse my heart?
- Do I receive the Sacrament of Confession on a regular basis?
- Do I receive the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist as an additional sanctifying grace?
- Do I want to receive a pure heart so I can see God?
