Opening Prayer Novena
Saint Raphael, the highest tribute we give to God
for having called you to such a high holiness,
and having set you on Polish soil as a model to follow
is to honor Our Lady of Mount Carmel
who blessed us with the devotion to the Holy Scapular.
We want to constantly imitate your virtues,
they being a great example of God's will for us.
Saint Raphael, intercede to God on our behalf.
May you obtain for us the grace that we dare to ask
through your intercession during this Novena.
Amen.
Prayers:
Saint Raphael, your faith was strengthened
during moments of difficulties and experiences.
Obtain for us an equal strong faith,
to understand that God is our greatest gift in life,
the ultimate goal towards which we journey.
Obtain for us the faith and courage,
to accept the difficulties of life,
to enjoy a living faith which appeals to our hearts,
an ardent worship and Christian joy
to gladly live for the glory of God.
Amen.
Saint Raphael, throughout your saintly life,
you never cease to trust in the goodness
and mercy of our Heavenly Father.
You had unwavering trust in God to sweeten
your heavy, difficult and painful moments of earthly life.
May you obtain for us the grace,
that we may wholeheartedly trust and count on Him
Who is the best Father of all,
to protect us from all evils.
Amen.
Saint Raphael, in your search and discovery of God
your heart was filled with the ultimate joy,
finding your sole purpose of life,
to love God more than anything else in the world.
What could possibly be worth more than God and His love?
Teach us by your holy example
that by loving God in all things and above all,
we will receive the promised inheritance,
which surpasses all the earthly desires of the heart.
Amen.
Saint Raphael, you manifested such great love
towards your brothers and sisters in Christ
that you constantly looked for opportunities to do good works,
to feed and comfort the needs of all those who were desperate.
Obtain for us the grace,
that we may always love where there is hatred,
to carry the faith where there is doubt,
to awaken hope where despair torments,
and to bring joy where there is sadness.
May our unselfish love always shine towards others
so that by doing so, at the moment of death,
we will be born to the new promised eternal life
that awaits the adopted children of God.

Closing Prayer:
Saint Raphael, model and living example of holiness,
Trusting and persevering in prayer,
Your life was marked by a great and heavy cross.
As such, you understand our problems and shortcomings.
May you obtain for us a living and strong faith, endless confidence,
ardent and unlimited love for God and our neighbor,
fortitude in suffering, obedience to the Divine will of God
and all that the Eternal Father desires from us through your powerful intercession during this Novena.
Bring to the Throne of the Heavenly Father
our desires, our joys, our anguish and suffering.
In your hands, beloved Patron,
our needs will be welcomed by the Lord God,
to Who we belong with all our heart, forever and ever!
