Knowing that He was innocent of all charges,
It was not enough to have degraded Him,
That they tortured and murdered Him;
They proceeded to defile His Sacred Body.

Seeing Jesus was already dead on the cross,
The soldier speared His side, [John 19:33-4]
Deeply perforating His quiescent flesh.

No words can depict this soul perturbing act,
The defiling of God in His incarnation!

To the soldier, it was just a joke,
Just a part of his daily abusive pleasure.

It was a desecration of the Most Holy,
Over and above disrespect for His lifeless form.

Who was this heartless Roman soldier,
That history has no record of his name?

He surely would be the second Judas!
