Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Please be advised that after much consideration, I have decided to discontinue the monthly distribution of the Newsletter for a number of reasons. These are:

Due to a lack of interest: Based on the statistics provided by the website that manages the distribution of the Newsletter, while I have over 600 subscribers, only about 100 of them opened their email last month to read its content. Out of that, 35 subscribers clicked on the link to the webpage where the newsletters are located. Then 5 of those 35 actually clicked on the link of the Newsletter webpage. In other words, over 600 members received the Newsletter of which only 5 opened it with no guarantee they read it.

The Newsletter program: Catholic Doors Ministry uses the website Mailchimp.com to manage its Newsletter. Its program is the most useless program I have ever encountered. Every month it changes the layout of its website, making it most difficult to manage the composing and sending of a Newsletter. Certain months, because their website is far from being user friendly, I wasted 2-3 hours to send out the Newsletter when such a task should not take more than 15 minutes from past experience. There no longer is any joy in creating and sending the monthly Newsletter.

Newsletter Blocking: There are websites such as yahoo that blocks Newsletters and other email of its choice, preventing subscribers from receiving what they have subscribed to receive. For example, last month, Yahoo email services blocked over 40 of my subscribers from receiving their monthly Newsletters. This is a clear indication that Yahoo controls what you receive contrary to your freedom of speech. My suggestion is that anyone who has a yahoo email account, they should dump it and get a different email address. No one should control what you receive and read on the internet.

Time management: As previously stated, Catholic Doors Ministry is a one person ministry. The time involved is volunteered time in the service of the Lord Jesus. It is no longer economical to produce a monthly Newsletter that takes 2-3 hours of a person's time when only about 5 subscribers open the Newsletter itself, with no guarantee it was read.

Duplication: The production of the Newsletter is a duplication of a service that is already available on my website. On any day of the month, visitors can visit the webpage called "What's New" to get an update of what has been uploaded on the website on every day of the month. Click https://catholicdoors.com/whatsnew.htm to see for yourself. There you will find at least three months of daily additions to the website. If you monitor this webpage, you will not miss any new additions on the website.

I wish to thank all the subscribers who took the time to sign up for the monthly Newsletter. Your interest was great appreciated. In the near future, the complete mailing list of subscribers will be deleted. That will include the removal of your email address.
