Dear members of the Body of Christ,
In a few days the doors of year 2018 will permanently close. In the history of the Catholic Church, year 2018 shall go down as its worst year of scandals. There is no need to repeat the details of them as the media, day after day, reinforced the fact that since the 60's the Catholic Church, beginning at the Papacy level, knew and covered crimes against the youth and the Sacrament of marriage (homosexuality).
While some Princes of the Church claim that the scandals are unfounded or exaggerated, they mostly being centered around the United States that seeks to destroy the reputation of the Catholic Church, the media has clearly proven that the problem is worldwide, sexual abuse by some members of the clergy flourishing in Africa, Australia, Canada, Chile, England, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Scotland, just to name a few.
What can the faithful expect in 2019? Having only seen the tip of the iceberg, the Governments and the people, having started detailed investigations, shall continue to expose crimes against the Church by some of its shepherds as never seen since the days of Jesus' crucifixion and death on the Cross for the sins of the world. It is no wonder that Jesus went through so much suffering during His Passion.
During the past month, having read about endless offences of the clergy, I compiled a list of "Sins of the Clergy" under the "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)" section of my website. The list is very disturbing. May the Lord Jesus have mercy on the souls of these offenders. Otherwise they will all be claimed by Satan for eternity. Let us never forget to pray for our priests. They are constantly under spiritual attacks, Satan seeking the downfall of all of them.
My message for 2019 is PERSEVERE. No matter what happens in the Church or the world, persevere in your faith. Jesus said, "But he who endures to the end shall be saved." [Mt. 24:13] Do not leave the Church because some members of the clergy have sinned. Nobody was born a Saint. You grow into Sainthood. That includes the priests. If Jesus wanted a perfect priesthood, He would have sent angels to evangelize. But no, He chose sinners, St. Paul who had a history of murdering Christians, St. Peter who denied knowing Him, St. Thomas the doubter, Mary Magdelene the prostitute, etc... And He chose you to bear your cross to the end so you may receive your eternal reward.
May God always be with you, blessing you with the strength that you need to persevere. Let us pray for one another. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.
Jonn Miller,
Webmaster.
