As you are all aware, during the month of February, we entered the Lenten Season, a time of preparation for Easter through prayer, doing penance, mortifying the flesh, repentance of sins, almsgiving, and self-denial. All of this is achieved through the reception of the Holy Sacraments that were instituted by Jesus Christ when He established His Church on earth.
Through the Sacraments and Sacramentals such as Holy Water in the fonts, we receive endless graces that are necessary for the sanctification of our souls. According to Saint Catherine of Siena, a Doctor of the Church, the grace of God is by far the greatest treasure that one can receive. When she was granted a vision into the state of one soul imbued with sanctifying grace, upon contemplating the beauty of this one soul in God's grace she fell to her knees. Enthralled and totally captivated by its beauty she thought it was God Himself!
How does one grow in the grace of God? You do so through prayer, charity, penance, the Sacraments (the Holy Eucharist), by reciting the "Hail Mary" of Our Lady. If you focus on these, you will grow in sanctifying grace during the Lenten Season.
During the month of March, I will be praying for each and everyone of you, that you may all grow in the graces of God that gushes out of Heaven as a waterfall of endless water.
