Dear saints of the Church,
2008 is coming to a close. It will be a year to be remembered, the first black elected President in the US, ongoing and new violence in numerous countries, natural disasters continuing to increase throughout the world, and the list goes on and on. It seems that the countries that are the hardest hit by violence and/or natural disasters are those where the Catholic faith has dramatically decreased or just about disappeared. Those same countries suffer a decreased number of vocations to the priesthood. Has God turned His back to His people because, they first, turned their back to Him? Only time will tell.
This month, a major project was completed. The Annual and monthly Liturgical Calendars were all typed on webpages and uploaded on the website. This project required a good 20 hours of work. At least now, it is done for another year. I hope that it will be appreciated by those who use it.
You will find below an update on the Mission in India that the Catholic Doors Ministry supports.
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas, filled with joy and peace between you, your family and your friends. And do not forget, Christmas is not just about gift exchanges. It is about Jesus, His coming into this world for your salvation, His Divine love that cannot be measured, and His calling for you to participate in the Christmas Mass with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
May God bless you all.
In the love of Jesus and Mary,
Jonn,
webmaster.

MISSION IN INDIA (The Bishop's Appeal)
Since I last wrote about the Catholic Doors Ministry's support of a mission in India, the Kannur Diocese, and my public appeal for financial support, I have been informed that over and above the $500.00 Canadian donated by this ministry, someone else from England donated 5 British pounds. This is all the support that Bishop Dr. Varghese Chakkalakal received. I had hope to receive a greater response.
This week, I received the Bishop's personal "APPEAL FOR HELP FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CATHEDRAL." You may read this letter by clicking on the link below.
Things have been very difficult for this new Diocese that is only 10 years old. Recently, one or more persons stole the Blessed Sacrament from one of the substations of a parish in Kannur. These poor people cannot even afford to build Churches that can secure the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Tabernacle. The Bishop of Kannur urgently needs a secure Cathedral from where he can administer his Diocese.
I encourage you to print his letter of appeal that is found at the link below and to distribute it among parishioners at your local Church. If you have a Knights of Columbus Chapter, ask them if they would consider making a contribution. If 400 Chapters donated $1,000.00 each, the Diocese of Kannur would finally have a beautiful Cathedral. Click on the link below and see the picture of what the Cathedral will look like once it is completed.
If 40,000 persons each send $10.00, that also could reach the goal of $400,000.00. Start a chain letter, asking family members and friends to each mail $10.00 or more to the Bishop in Kannur. His address is on his letter of appeal. Do whatever you can to help Jesus who needs a beautiful home/Cathedral in Kannur.
Thank you for your support on behalf of the clergy and our Catholic brothers and sisters in India.
