February, 2007 Monthly Newsletters
(Issue # 82)

Dear brothers and sisters in Jesus,

During February, we entered the Liturgical cycle of Lent. This is a time frame when through prayer and fasting, we strive to grow in love and strength in our relationship with the Lord Jesus. Let us unite our prayers with the entire Body of Christ, that each of its members may achieve this goal by the grace of God.

During February, I answered 4 questions under "Frequently Asked Questions." One of those questions relates to "Abortion and Excommunication." Did you know that those who support abortion are automatically excommunicated? They do not need to be notified by the Catholic Church of this status. Did you also know that while many have gone to their priest to confess the sin of excommunication, such a confession was not valid? Unfortunately, many priests are ignorant of this fact and believe they can absolve all sins. The truth of the matter is that a priest cannot absolve a person of an excommunication and an excommunicated person cannot receive the Sacraments of the Church unless that person is dying and receiving the Last Rite. Therefore, how can a person have the excommunication lifted so the sin of abortion can be absolved? That person must contact their local Bishopo who is the only person who can lift the excommunication. To read more on this subject, click on the link below under "Frequently Asked Questions" and search the topic "Abortion and Excommunication."

Have you ever wondered why the Bishops throughout the world have always remain silent regarding Catholic politicians who vote in favour of abortion? Many have wished that the Bishops would excommunicate them! The truth of the matter is that the Bishops do not have to excommunicate these individuals because by their actions, they have automatically excommunicated themselves. All the Bishops can do is confirm that these politicians have excommunicated themselves. Therefore, under Canon Law, these politicians are forbidden from receiving the Church Sacraments, including the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist when attending Holy Mass. They no longer belong to the Church, having excommunicated themselves. Accordingly, priests have forbidden to distribute the Holy Eucharist to those who are excommunicated. Any priest who does so, he shall be directly answereable to God.

I pray that this month's new Questions and Answers shall enlighten many in the teachings of the Catholic Church.

May the grace of God be with each and everyone of you during this Lenten Season.

In the love of Jesus and Mary,

Jonn,
webmaster.
