CATHOLIC DOORS MINISTRY
presents

February, 2006 Monthly Newsletters
(Issue # 70)

Dear members of the Body of Christ,

On Wednesday, we will be celebrating Ash Wednesday. Once more, we will be entering a time frame of penance and sacrifices that will last forty days. This time frame is called the Lenten Season that precedes Easters.

Beginning on Ash Wednesday, we are called to be reconciled to God. Through the sacramental of ashes that is symbolic of penance, we are reminded that we as sinners are but dust and ashes. [Gen. 18:27] On this day, in preparation for the joy of Easter that is approaching, we are encouraged to call upon the mercy of the Lord Jesus, asking Him for His blessings and forgiveness. For the Heavenly Father does not want any of us to die but to live with the risen Christ who reigns forever and ever. As such, through the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, we are to prepare ourselves to celebrate the death and glorious Resurrection of Christ our Saviour by being cleansed from our sins through a renewal of spirit.

During this Lenten Season, we are called to reflect upon the sins that we have committed since our last attendance at the Sacrament of confession. This reflective time is to prepare ourselves to once more receive the blessings and forgiveness of Our Lord Jesus Christ that can only be found in the Catholic Church Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Let us all join our prayers for each other so that we may all obtain from God the strength to do a perfect confession. May the Spirit of Christ be with all of you.

In the love of Jesus and Mary,

Jonn,
webmaster.
