Dear members of the Catholic Doors Ministry,
HOMILIES
In March, we will be entering the Lenten Season in preparation for the celebration of the glorious Resurrection of the Lord Jesus on Easter Sunday. On March 5 th, we will be turning a new page in the Liturgical Calendar. We will all gather at our local Churches to celebrate "Ash Wednesday" which is the first of forty days of the Lenten Season that precedes Easter. On this special occasion, we are called to be reconciled to God. Through the sacramental of ashes that is symbolic of penance, we are reminded that we as sinners are but dust and ashes. [Gen. 18:27]
For those who are not aware of it, on February 23, 2003, Pope John Paul II declared March 5 th, Ash Wednesday, as a day of prayer and fasting for peace. In his own words, the Holy Father stated:
"For months the international community has been living in great apprehension because of the danger of a war that might disturb the whole of the Middle East region and exacerbate the tensions that, unfortunately, are already present at the beginning of the millennium."
"It is a duty of believers, regardless of the religion to which they belong, to proclaim that we will never be able to be happy if we are against one another; the future of humanity will never be able to be assured by terrorism and the logic of war."
"We Christians, in particular, are called to be like guardians of peace in the places where we live and work. We are asked, that is, to be alert, so that consciences will not yield to the temptation to egoism, falsehood and violence."
"All Catholics to dedicate with special intensity next March 5, Ash Wednesday, to prayer and fasting for the cause of peace, especially in the Middle East."
"Above all, let us implore God for the conversion of hearts and a generous view in just decisions to resolve with adequate and peaceful means the contests that hamper the pilgrimage of humanity in our time."
"In every Marian shrine an ardent prayer for peace will be raised to heaven with the praying of the holy rosary. I trust that also in parishes and families the rosary will be prayed for this great cause on which the good of all depends."
"This common invocation will be accompanied by fasting, expression of penance for the hatred and violence that contaminate human relations."
"Christians share the ancient practice of fasting with many brothers and sisters of other religions, who in this way want to be despoiled of all pride and dispose themselves to receive from God the greatest and most necessary gifts, among which, in particular, is that of peace." (END)
Last month, I promised to introduce everyone to a new supplier of books at better prices than Amazon.com. Towards the end of this webpage, you will find a link to the new merchant Wal*Mart's Book Department of over 500,000 books at discount prices. As an example of great savings, the Catechism of the Catholic Church sells at Wal*Mart $2.00 lower than at Amazon. I encourage everyone to click on that link to do their online shopping.
During February, the Catholic Doors Ministry added links to six other merchants of Catholic/Christian goods at great prices. Your purchase from any of these merchants will benefit the Catholic Doors Ministry through commissions received for online sales.
For religious goods, "Personal Creation" is the place to shop. While "Wal*Mart" has books, it also has many other Departments of general merchandise. One of the links will give you for free "Full Version Software and Jewelry" if you just past the minimal shipping cost. "Franklin Mint" has many collectors' items of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It is worth your time to review their merchandise. While "All Posters" has over 600,000 posters and prints for sale, it has a collection of approximately 1,500 Christian posters. Do you subscribe to Catholic Magazines? Check that link for the best price on the Internet. With over 1,000 magazines available, some come with 80% discount. When renewal time comes up, consider renewing through our link so we can receive a commission from your purchase. "Overstock" is a merchant that has a wide selection of merchandise at great prices. While his section of Catholic and Christian books is not as great as "Wal*Mart", its prices are similar. They are way better than Amazon's prices. So this provides you with two sources of online book sellers at great prices. "Overstock" also has a nice selection of Christian jewelry.
That's it for our new online shopping store. A lot of time was spent searching for reputable merchants who would provide you with great savings while providing us with a commission as a means of raising funds to maintain the Catholic Doors Ministry on the internet. I believe this has successfully been accomplished.
May the month of March be one of blessings to you and all of your loved ones. Your needs are remembered daily during my celebration of the Holy Mass. May the grace of God shine abundantly on all your physical and spiritual needs.
In the love of Jesus and Mary,
Fr. Maurice Levesque

IS IT CATHOLIC?
In view of the controversy over "Generational Healing," also known as "Healing of the Family Tree," an article has been authored on the subject. Based on the teaching of this doctrine that implies generational possession by spirits, it is that Catholic. To review the entire article or to print it to share it with your friends, please visit:
