With the ending of the first month in the new year, the time has arrived to once more share with you the monthly achievements of the Catholic Doors Ministry. I pray that these new additions will help many in their spiritual growth so they may achieve the communion that they seek with Our Lord Jesus Christ.
New webpages have been added in the hope that many of our visitors and supporters will witness to their personal experiences in the Catholic Faith for the benefit of all of our Catholic brothers and sisters, including the benefit of those who wish to convert to the Catholic Faith. You will find the particulars below under "Recognition."
In April, 2002, the Catholic Doors Ministry began offering Online Shopping to its visitors as a means of raising revenues. On the top of some webpages, you may have noticed the blue bar that states "Online Shopping." By clicking on it, you are taken to a number of webpages that permit you to shop in different categories. One of those webpages consist of shopping at Amazon.com through our website in order for us to enjoy the commission derived from your purchases. Since April, 2002, while we have sold for $ 467.01, we will only receive a commission of $ 30.68 which amounts to about 6.5% of the total sales. Due to a change in their paying policies in January, 2003, Amazon will not pay us (or anyone else) until we have earned a minimum of $100.00. It should be noted that many of the books that are sold pay no more than 2.5% commission. At that rate, it will take "forever" to raise any amount of funds for the evangelizing ministry of the Catholic Doors Ministry.
I am pleased to announce that beginning in mid-February, we will have a new supplier of books for all online shopping. The minimum guaranteed commission will be 7%, paid once $25.00 commission has been earned. Most important of all, the cost of the books to you will be lower than the prices of Amazon.com. We compared a number of books such as the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Padre Pio books, etc... and on the average, the books were $1 to $2 cheaper. Therefore, will our visitors will save money, we will increase our commission rate through this new supplier. And I should add that the webpage display were nicer than Amazon.com and each webpage offers a larger selection of books in each category.
And that is not all, we will be adding new stores for online shopping, these consisting of major retailers in the US and Canada. All of these stores are committed to paying us a fair commission on the sale of their merchandise which they are prepared to deliver right to your door. For those who do shop online, watch our online shopping webpages in the near future. I am sure you will all benefit from these new additions that will financially assist our ministry.
For those of you who like free software, a new banner has been added on the top of our graphics webpage at http://www.catholicdoors.com/links/graphics.htm . By paying only the shipping fee, you can obtain free software for Christian graphics, children's games, cookbooks, home designing, world atlas, resume designer, medical encyclopedia, Bible stories, accounting, wills, etc... over 300 free CD-Disks. Check this out by clicking on the banner if you are interested! This is a great deal!
Finally, let us unite our prayers for peace in the world. Pope John-Paul II has spoken against an attack on Iraq and we support his appeal for peace. May the grace of God transform the hearts of those who seek war for whatever reason they may use.
