CATHOLIC DOORS MINISTRY
presents

January, 2002 Monthly Newsletters
(Issue # 21)
Dear members of the Body of Christ,

This first newsletter of the new year will provide you with an update of the evangelizing work of the Catholic Doors Ministry.

During January, 2002, another 196 webpages were added to the website. All the particulars are found below. As you will note, the Catechism of the Catholic Church is being added. Some may ask why since there are about 4 copies on the Internet, including the one from the Vatican. Allow me to explain. This copy of the Catechism includes all the titles of the subsections in its index. All the references within the Catechism are added in their appropriate place in 'brown' versus being added at the end of the sections as found in other copies of the Catechism. When completed, all the Catechism cross-references will be added at the bottom of each paragraph. And finally, every numbered paragraph will be coded so that when someone writes and asks about a Catechism reference, they will be directed to the exact paragraph versus being referred to a webpage and having to find the material. And when the Canon Laws will have been added to this website, the related link will be added in the Catechism for cross-reference. In my opinion, this will be the best Catechism of the Catholic Church, far surpassing a book or the Catechism on other websites.

This year, it is the intent of the Catholic Doors Ministry to also code all the verses of the Holy Bible. Once this is completed, the related links will be added to the Catechism to further improve its quality. This is only one of the many projects that are planned for the coming months.

The Catholic Doors Ministry would also like to start on the Dictionary of the Catholic Church, this involving over 10,000 entries. At first, the most important entries will be posted, those that relate to frequently asked questions on Church teachings such as the Trinity, infant baptism, the Immaculate Conception, etc...

For all these projects to be fulfilled, it means expansion. At present, the Catholic Doors Ministry only has 60 MB of space available for its material. Of that, 43 MB are presently used. The Catechism and the Canon Laws will require another 5 MB of space. The planned Dictionary alone will require another 40 MB of space. In view of the planned expansion, it has now become necessary to consider a minimum need of 100 MB of webspace.

With these planned expansions, it becomes more urgent to achieve our goal of raising $1,500.00 for this year's operation. Unfortunately, while over 30,000 visitors use our website every month, the financial support has been minimal. Only $ 578.00 (or 38.5%) of our need has been reached. As such, it has become necessary to ask everyone to seriously consider sending a financial contribution (see address below), even as small as $ 10.00, to show their support for the Catholic Doors Ministry. With 93 persons sending $10.00 each, our future would be secured for another year. Please consider this as a special appeal to each and everyone of you so you may continue to use this worthy ministry.

On January 28, 2002, a visitor wrote in our Guest Book, "I just want to thank you for helping me to undertand my Catholic faith better. I have not gone to church for some time now, and recently started attending again. I have been confused about my religion and reading from your site has started to help me understand more and learn a lot more. This is a site that I will visit frequently, so I can learn and grow. Thank you again. God bless you."

The aforementioned entry in the Guest Book is a clear indication that the Holy Spirit is producing spiritual fruits through our ministry of evangelization, bringing to light to truth to those who seek to further their knowledge of the Catholic Faith. Where there is light, there is hope. Where there is hope, there is focus on Jesus. And where there is focus on Jesus, salvation awaits the soul at the end of the road.

May the grace of God shine on all of you in the coming month.

In the love of the two hearts,

Fr. Maurice Levesque
