CATHOLIC DOORS MINISTRY
presents

May, 2000 Monthly Newsletters
(Issue # 1)
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ:

Welcome to the first Issue of the Catholic Doors Ministry Monthly Newsletter. Since advising the public on May 14, 2000 of the Catholic Doors Ministry's intent of starting a Monthly Newsletter, 20 visitors have signed up by providing is with their email addresses. Thank you to all of you for providing our ministry with the opportunity to update you on the progressive developments of our ministry.

On May 1 st, 2000, the Catholic Doors Ministry celebrated its First Anniversary on the Internet. Since its beginning, the ministry has grown beyond all expectations, now receiving over 8,000 visitors per month. During the past few months, it has grown at a rate of approximately 20% per month.

AWARDS

The Catholic Doors Ministry finished the month of May by receiving five beautiful Awards in support of its spiritual work of defending the Cathlic faith, showing great love for the Blessed Virgin Mary and for defending life. Thank you to those who have blessed our ministry with these beautiful Awards for the glory of God.

BIBLE COURSES

After two months of emailing back and forth, in May, we received confirmation in writing by postal mail that the Catholic Church in South Africa will be translating the Catholic Doors Ministry Bible courses in the Zulu language to teach the Word of God to our South African brothers and sisters in Christ. Praise God! This is one of the many signs that our ministry witnesses as to the moving power of the Holy Spirit as a result of our evangelization by Internet.

CATHOLIC DOORS MINISTRY WORLD NEWS

Towards the end of the month of May, we have set up a page that provides updated Catholic News from around the world. We are still working on fixing a few bugs in the program to avoid receiving news links that require subscription or those related to non-Catholic topics. Reviewing the news results, it has been noticed that we have been able to obtain Catholic News much fast than "Church News" or "Zenit" that provide Catholic News on a daily basis.

CATHOLIC GRAPHICS

A new page that is quickly growing in popularity is our new page on where to find Catholic Graphics. After so many inquiries, we decided to combine all our present favourites and search for a few more. Consequently, there are at least 50 locations throughout the world that provides graphics that are suitable for Catholic websites. One link for which we have received much praise is to http://www.catholic1.com where you can find black and white graphics for Parish Bulletins AND a children's newsletter that can be added in the weekly bulletins. This is thanks to Fr. Lonsdale who is the creator of all this work and who is sharing His God given gift with the world.

ENGLISH PRAYERS

During May, holy pictures were added to about another 25 prayers on the Prayer Page. As time permits, more holy pictures will be added to the prayers. As new prayers are being added, attempts are made to immediately put the holy picture on it.

FATIMA NEWS

After receiving a very large number of hits on our website from visitors seeking information on Pope John-Paul II's visit to Fatima and the partial release of the Third Secret of Fatima, we added a "Fatima News" page. This page has dozens of link to newspaper articles covering the event, the story of Fatima, photographs, etc... This page will be updated as the remaining of the Fatima Secret is released.

FORUM (MESSAGE BOARD)

Our new Message Board that was implemented on April 29, 2000 has been receiving some traffic. It now has a few dozen entries from visitors asking questions or answering the questions left behind by others. It appears that this will be successful.

FRENCH PRAYERS

June will see the addition of a French Prayers page. This need has been identified through our daily logs and visitors writing to us to ask us where they can find them. After spending a couple of hours on the Internet, it was realize that there are few French Catholic prayers, novenas and litanies on the Internet. Where there are some prayers, the websites only have three or four prayers, this requiring ongoing searching.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

June will see the addition of a new page called FAQ that stands for "Frequently Asked Questions." This page will address repeated questions that we receive by email in regards to where to buy our homilies, problems with download graphics or mouse cursors, etc...

GUEST BOOK

On May 10, 2000, we finally got 100 visitors to sign our Guest Book that was implemented in July last year. The Guest Book is a very valuable tool because it tells us how our visitors are being touched by the spiritual material that the Catholic Doors Ministry provides to the public.

HOMILIES

The June, 2000 Sunday homilies are completed and uploaded on the website for those who wish to use them. The homily for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 30th remains to be completed and uploaded.

NOVENAS

Based on the daily logs that identify what our visitors are looking for when using a search engine, we identified the need to have Novenas on our website. We have added a few Novenas to the "Prayers" page and hope to add another dozen or so in the next month. With limited volunteer manpower, only so much can be done.
