Q. 1. Is an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion allowed to keep a Consecrated Host (the Eucharist) at home overnight so he can deliver it to a bed ridden person on the following day?
A. 1. No! When an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is going to bring Communion to a sick person, beforehand, he is to go to the Church to get the Holy Eucharist and he/she must deliver it immediately (without stopping anywhere in between) to the person for whom Communion was intended. Such are the instructions of the Catholic Church.
