Frequently Asked Questions
regarding
LENT: FASTING AND MEAT.

Q. 1. What is the Catholic Church teaching regarding fasting and eating meat during Lent? Is there certain days when we cannot eat meat?

A. 1. During Lent, you are required to fast from meat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Over and above that, the Catholic Church teaches that while you are not required to fast on all the Fridays of the year, you are required to abstain from meat on all the Fridays of the year, including the Fridays of Lent.
