Q. 1. If I make a Lenten resolution, such as fasting, am I obligated to keep it on Sundays? Some people say that a resolution must be kept everyday of Lent while others say it is not an obligation on Sunday? Who is right?
A. 1. Lenten resolutions are a voluntary practice. Keeping them or setting them aside on the Sundays of Lent is a matter of personal preference. Either way is acceptable. You may set aside your penances on Lenten Sunday to honour the Lord's Day. Or you may choose to keep your resolution throughout Lent, including on Sundays. The choice is yours.
