A. 1. In the Rite of Peace during Holy Mass, the priest can omit the words, "Let us offer each other the sign of peace," which is the sign of peace among the people. This is frequently applied during week days. But the priest can never omit the words "The peace of the Lord be with you always" to which the faithful reply, "And also with you."
