Q. 1. When receiving the Body and Blood of Christ during the Holy Mass, can the communicant dip his Host into the Precious Blood instead of drinking from the Chalice?
A. 1. Only the priest or the Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister is permitted to dip the Host into the Precious Blood and then it must be administered on the tongue of the communicant. When the Host is dipped in the Precious Blood, it can never be given in the hand of the communicant. (HLS 45)
The Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister must abide by the same procedure. He cannot dip his own Host into the Precious Blood.
