Q. 1. What is a "Cradle Catholic?"
A. 1. The term "cradle Catholic" normally refers to those who are born and raised as Catholics."
"Cradle Catholic" is an offensive term that should never be used. Those who convert to the Catholic faith, they resent the term. It stings of snobbery to Catholics who cannot make the claim. It gives the impression that those who are born in the faith, they are better Catholics. As history has showned, many cradle Catholics are negligent Catholics who know little about the Catholic faith. Most converts will spend years learning about the Catholic faith before they convert, wanting to be sure that they are making the right decision.
Many cradle Catholics are born in the faith, married in the faith and buried in the faith. That is it! So it is not a term to brag about.
