Q. 1. Does the Holy Bible provide any proof that the Holy Orders is a Sacrament?
A. 1. Yes, it does. In the New Testament, we find reference to men being set aside and hands being laid upon them during their ordination to the priesthood. [Acts 6:3-6, 13:2-3] We also find references to bishops [1 Tim. 3:1] and deacons [1 Tim. 3-8-9].
The priesthood of the Old Testament (high priest, priests, Levites) was a foreshadow of the priesthood to come through Jesus Christ in the forming of His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
The following are some Biblical references to the Sacrament of the Holy Orders:
Acts 6:3-6, 13:2-3,
1 Tim. 3:1, 1 Tim. 3:8-9, 1 Tim. 4:14, 1 Tim. 4:16, 1 Tim. 5:17-19 and 1 Tim. 5:22.
