Q. 1. Are Catholic obligated to have a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary?
A. 1. Catholics are not obligated to have any particular devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. They are only required to agree with the Church Marian doctrines that have been declared as true.
For example, if someone says the Rosary every day but does not believe in the doctrine of the virginity of Mary, he/she is not a true Catholic. But he/she who does not have any devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary and believes in all the proclaimed Marian dogmas, he/she is a true Catholic.
