Q. 1. How many Catholic Godparents can a person have at Baptism?
A. 1. According to the teachings of the Catholic Church, you can have a maximum of 2 Godparents. One must be a male, the other a female.
A Catholic Godparent is a "Catholic who has received the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and the Holy Eucharist in the Catholic Church."
There has to be a minimum of 1 Godparent. The second one can be a "Christian Witness," meaning a Christian from a different religion that is recognized by the Catholic Church. Again, one must be a male, the other a female. No exception.
