A. 1. Based on research of the matter, those involved in mixed- marriages (mixed religions) are three times more likely to get divorced compared to couples that share the same religion.
Because of this, the Catholic Church forbids mixed-marriages. A dispensation from this prohibition may be obtained from the competent diocesan authority, but there is no guarantee that it will be received.
The divorce rate increase in other situations such as mixed-races, a great difference in age (such as 20/50), moving to a foreign land where the culture is different, mixed-languages where one find himself/herself in an environment where they cannot communicate, etc...
