In the Hebrew Bible, "Hosanna" is used only in verses such as "help" or "save, I pray." See Psalms 118:25.

In Mark 11:9, "Hosanna" is used as a a shout of praise or adoration; an acclamation. “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” [Mk. 11:9]
