Q. 1. Is it appropriate to take my child to work?
A. 1. While one cannot deny the importance of the family and the building up of the bond between parents and their children, it should be remembered that with a job comes the responsibilities that one has towards his/her employer.
The employer does not pay us to babysit our own children. He pays us to provide a skill that will benefit his firm.
Parents have an obligation to find a kind, loving and reliable babysitter or professional child care services for their children.
In exceptional cases, an employer may recommend that the parent brings her child to work on a temporary basis in a situation where a sincere search for a babysitter has not been productive and the company would suffer greatly from the absence of the employee who plays a key role in the success of the firm.
