Q. 1. My sister is pregnant. She wants to know if she can still get married in the Catholic Church? She and her boyfriend have never been married before.
A. 1. The Catholic Church does not have any rules that prevent someone from getting married in the Church while pregnant.
At the same time, such a marriage may be viewed as a "marriage of obligation" because of one's pregnancy. Because of this reason, a pastor may decide to delay the marriage until such time as it has been established that the couple's freedom to marry has been established.
