Q. 1. Since when does the Catholic Church have the right to make Laws?
A. 1. The Catholic Church received its authority to make Laws from Jesus when he said to the apostles:
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." [Mt. 16:19]
No other Churches (religions) have received this authority directly from Jesus Christ in person. So anything else that other religions teach that contradict the teachings of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, such are man made rules that are not recognized by God.
