ANSWERED PRAYERS
2003/01/08 - After a month of persevering in prayer for a personal favour, D.R. of Japan's prayers were answered on January 3, 2003 through the intercession of Saint Jude, the Patron of Lost Causes.
2003/01/19 - From Jean in Western USA, in November 2002, I severely fractured my right wrist and arm; the doctors were confident I would be in cast for 4 months; after asking for prayers from Fr. Levesque; I am so happy to report that today January 19 (my birthday) I am in a brace and able to excercise my wrist in a limited way to regain use of the muscles; I have prayed for this as well to our Holy Mother Mary and to our Blessed St. Anne; my wrist is well on the way to being completely healed.
2003/02/18 From a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12533 St Mark Denton Texas, we learn:
"We have a member who had Leukemia and was sent home to die from the hospital. At a meeting, the Knights prayed for a recovery of this hopeless cause. We visited the man and his family (his parents and brothers and sisters had come to say goodbye and maintain a classic death watch. The person had made his peace and asked that God's will be done. The Knights and our parish continued (and still do) prayed for him. He was not expected to live the weekend. That was now some time ago. He recently attended a Wedding Vow renewal and has started back to his sales job, although he is still weak. We believe we have an answered prayer.
2003/03/06 Dear Folks at Catholic Doors Ministry, I wanted to let you know about an answered prayer in our family. Our daughter is a junior at a Catholic University in Portland, Oregon. She is a nursing major and this past fall she heard about a scholarship that would pay for the student's Junior and senior year's tuition if the student would commit to three years at one of their hospitals. So our daughter applied and asked everyone she knew to pray for her, including relatives and the prayer group I belong to. A lot of work went into applying for this scholarship and there was a lot of competition, but she called Tuesday night and told us she got the scholarship. This was March 4, 2003. It amounts to about $50,000.00. She is excited. It is also wonderful that she asked for prayers and that she has learned to turn to God for help. I credit St. Raphael the archangel, St. Rita, St. Theresa the little flower and our Blessed Mother Mary for their prayers of intercession on our daughter's behalf. Once again the Lord has blessed us with his generosity. God bless you in all your efforts and thank you for listening!
2003/04/14 Pauline writes from Nairobi, Kenya. Having prayed that she would pass her Exams for the Winter 2003 Quarter, her prayers were completely and immediately answered. She gives credit to the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Martha. She writes, "I am saying a Novena to St. Martha each Tuesday and on request was to get a GPA of 3.5 or above for the Quarter and final Degree. My Novena will be finished on May 6, 2003. I used to say three Hail Mary's before the final Quarter Exams and Midquarters. I scored well in the Exams. If I could not remember something then I said "Virgin Help!" Then I would have a pint to write (meaning lots came to my mind.).
2003/05/20 We experinced a miracle in our family, when my twin was accepted into a Peaditrics residency program at Mt Sinai Hospital in Chicago. We had been praying for the intercession of the holy spirit and all saints for her placement, that the will of God prevail in her being situated in a program where she could do his work. On the 20 th of March 2003 we found out she had matched in Mt Sinai. Truly, when you ask of God believing that his will will be done and there is nothing impossible in God's eyes, you will realise your request.
2003/11/10 - from Michelle in Ohio, several weeks ago, I was under the threat of a life-altering health risk and felt that I had no where to turn. I had heard a story from my mother about how, when my father was out of work, she prayed to St. Jude and asked for help in my father finding a new job. Within days, my father was offered a wonderful job after months of searching. My mother believes that a miracle took place on that day and she encouraged me to look to St. Jude for help as she had done. I began praying to St. Jude last week and in just four days, my prayer was answered when I learned that I was going to be alright. This miracle has renewed my faith in religion. I encourage others who may find themselves in situations where they feel hopeless to look to god and St. Jude for answers. You will be heard. Thank you St. Jude for hearing my prayer.
2003/11/18 - from Rachelle in St. Paul, Minnesota. My prayer was answered in late September, 2003. My husband and I lost a baby to miscarriage over a year ago, and had spent this past summer undergoing infertility testing to learn that I have an incomplete uterus. We were on our way out of town for a weekend retreat from all of our tests and concerns and to just renew our relationship and my best friend knocked on my door in tears. She informed me that she was pregnant, and had to get either an abortion or a divorce because her husband did not want a baby. I was crushed for her circumstances, and my hopes were shattered; how could God let her be pregnant when they did not want children, and we so desperately did. I felt I had completely lost all faith in God. My Mom reminded me that prayer would help my faith. My prayer intention was to regain my strong faith in the Lord. I decided to pray the 54 Day Rosary Novena for faith. In just a few days my faith was renewed, and I know that God's plan for me is the right plan. My faith was completely restored, and I feel a much stronger faith today. I credit the Blessed Virgin Mary for her prayers on my behalf, as well as my parents and good family and friends for all their prayers. I feel that prayer was completely answered. So much so, I started another 54 Day Rosary Novena for another intention.
2003/11/27 - from Christine in Australia. About two months ago, I requested prayers for my husband to gain employment in IT. We have just migrated to Australia. On Thursday, November 27, 2003, he was called for an interview. Through God's Divine mercy and thanks to all those who prayed on behalf of my request, God blessed my husband with a job. Thank you so much and may God bless you more and more. Thank you my sweet Jesus for answering in your own time and for giving us patience thru that period.
2004/02/29 In May, 2003, Lorraine from New Jersey, USA, asked St. Jude to intercede on her behalf to Jesus for peace, love, respect and kindness between herself and close family relatives. Having made a Novena to St. Jude and distributing about 10 copies of the Novena, within 4-5 months, her prayer was answered. While it took time for her prayer to be answered, it was well worth it. Lorraine wishes to give full credit to St. Jude who is the Saint of desperate and impossible cases. St. Jude has been her Patron Saint since age 15, never letting her down when it comes to taking her requests to the Throne of God.
Saint Jude - pray for us - and all who invoke your help.
2004/03/20 Barbara writes from France... I want to thank St. Jude for interceding on my behalf to God. Last year, my husband was told that he would have to leave his job, but was given one year to find a new one (which was a *tremendous* blessing in of itself). After looking for several months without success, we became discouraged and were afraid that he'd have to leave his job before he could find a new one, which would have been extremely stressful situation both financially and emotionally. In November 2003, I prayed to St. Jude that my husband he would find a new position before he had to leave his old one and that the new position would be one well-suited for him. Well, St. Jude did not fail us -- God answered our prayer in every way. Just yesterday, unexpectedly, my husband was offered a wonderful, well-paying senior position better than anything we had imagined for him at this point in time. In just two more weeks, he would have had to leave his job.
Thank you St. Jude. Thank you so much, and glory be to God. I will let everyone know how you came through for us.
2004/04/18 Derby writes from Pennsylvania... Due to a birth defect, my father had his aortic valve replaced at Abington Hospital in July, 2001. He was admitted to the hospital on December 1, 2003 severly ill, barely alive. At first, we thought he had the flu, but discovered that he developed a staph infection that settled around his transplanted valve.
Two heart operations followed. On December 23rd, he had to have his transplanted aortic valve replaced. Two weeks later, the staph returned, this time it settled next to the valve. The doctors were able to successfully remove it again. Both times the doctors told my family that they didn't think he would survive, but he did.
During this time he was critically ill, his body was shutting down. He couldn't breathe on his own, his kidneys shut down and his thyroid stopped functioning. He was on the ventilator and dialysis for almost 2 months. He survived the operations, but we didn't know if his bodily functions could recover.
Since the day he was admitted, I prayed to Mother Theresa. I aked her to intervene for me - to ask Jesus to heal my father, if it was His will, and to give my family strength to handle whatever happened. I prayed the rosary often, also asking the Blessed Mother to intervene for me. Several times I placed my hands on my father and asked Mother Theresa to intervene for me and help heal my father.
The staph didn't come back after the second operation, and he finally seemed to be recovering after 2 long months. (I continued to pray to Mother Theresa.) After he was weaned off the ventilator and the dialysis, he went into cardiac and respiratory arrest. Luckily, he was still hooked up to the heart monitor and the hospital staff was able to revive him and install a pacemaker.
After 3 long months, he was finally released from the hospital and came home in time to celebrate his 76th birthday. He still is working on regaining his strength, but despite all odds, he has made a full recovery.
All during this ordeal, I promised God that if my father got well, I would make sure people knew that Mother Theresa was responsible for answering my prayers. I firmly believe that it was through her intercession that my father was able to recover. Praise Jesus.
2004/05/10 May writes from Norwalk, CT. I prayed for grace during the 4 hour-30-minute licensure exam. I was filled with so much anxiety and apprehension as I have taken and failed that same exam 6 months before. And it was answered positively on the day of my exam. I was calm and at peace and confident that I could sustain the whole duration of my exam. I felt God was with me on my day of examination. God in His supreme goodness not only sustained me in my hour of need but He also gave a positive result in my exam. Thanks be rendered to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, St. Jude the Apostle, St. Joseph of Cupertino, The Sacred Heart of Jesus and His Divine Mercy!
2004/09/22 Art write from Buffalo, New York, USA. I am a recent convert (5 years) to Catholicism and have grown in my faith ever since. But even after my conversion I did not really learn to pray until recently.
I have had several experiences in which my prayers have been answered in the past three months. Coincidence or God-incidence? In June, 2004, I was really concerned about several family members who had been unemployed, or were about to lose their jobs for various reasons. One of my brothers in my prayer group recommended I pray a novena for employment. Not really understanding about them, I asked my wife if she could go to the Catholic Book store and see if they had a novena for employment. She found one. I started that night and said the novena faithfully for my brother-in-law, a close friend of mine, by wife's cousin, and for myself (since I was unsure about continuing with my current position, working long hours without being justly compensated). I said it for nine days religiously and ended it with a special prayer for my guardian angel to intercede for me to help those in need, and though the intercession of St Padre Pio. The next day I went to my brother-in-laws house for a birthday party. He had been unemployed for almost 2 years. There his wife said he had an announcement. My brother-in-law said he was hired as a COO and CFO of a prominent art gallery. Everyone clapped and gave thanks and congratulations. I asked him when he found out and he said yesterday, the same day I ended my novena. This was also true for my friend. He had been turned away for months and had his first of three interviews which ultimately led to his hiring. His first interview was on day 7 of my novena. The person he interview with said he didn't know why he was even considering him, but something was telling him he was the one they would hire. That was the same comment that was made by each of his interviewers (he now works for the Legionnaires of Christ). About a month after my novena my wife's cousin who had closed the doors to his business was hired. As for myself, one week after my novena ended I received a performance raise. I believe my prayers were answered on all accounts.
The next answered prayer was answered last July. My son had gone off to basic training at FT Benning, Georgia. He arrived there about a week prior to starting where he in-processed, received all of his gear, went through a physical and waited to go to his training unit. During that time he developed a nasty cold and had called my concerned that he would be delayed (which could be up to three weeks). I called my wife and told her if he called back to go to the dispensary and get something for the cold. After I hung up with my wife, I then said a prayer to my guardian angel and Padre Pio. I asked him to help my son so he could continue his training on time. My wife and daughter at that same time said the Rosary for his health and recovery. We received another phone call from him about 10:00 pm that night. He said he had uncontrollable chills and a temperature. He said at about 8:00 am we felt perfectly fine for some reason. Latter I told my wife, after I hung up with her I said several prayers and she said she did the same. We talked to my son later and told him about our prayer and he said "he could understand why all of a sudden he was sick when he had been sick all of that day and the day before." Most don't realize the power of prayer. Only if more people would pray, think of what this world might be like.
2004/09/22 From Anthony in Guam, we learn, "Guam is an island predominantly Catholic and we believe that prayers are strong in healing.... My 19 year old nephew was told that he had a tumor the size of a softball pressing up against his heart and as devastating as this news was, we (the family) pulled together with as many friends as we could contact and we prayed the Novena to Saint Jude. With his divine intercession, my nephew's prognosis is a positive one and is well on his way to recovery! Thank you for sharing the faith with the rest of the world. More importantly, thank you Saint Jude, Saint Peregrine, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help and Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with God our Father forever and ever. Amen."
2004/12/19 From Naperville, Illinois, Andrew writes that after praying to be able to retain material and apply himself during his studies, he was informed that he passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam. He had been praying for this heavenly favour for 4 months. He gives all credit to the Infant Jesus of Prague and the Lord Jesus for answering his prayers. He states that "Anything you ask of God in earnest and believing that you have, you will already have."
2505/02/23 From Toledo, Ohio, Daniel informs us, "You will be pleased to know that the surgery performed on my friend Jim Mettler was successful. He had a benign tumor on his pituitary gland removed about two weeks ago. Jim and his wife are members of St. Pius X parish in Toledo, Ohio. Jim is about 72 and sings in the adult choir and also with the Community Singers, a male choral group that I also sing with. We entertain at nursing homes and retirement communities for the elderly residents. In addition, we sing Latin Masses in some parishes from time to time. I beleive Jim's recovery is due to two things- his graciousness to perform kind deeds for others, and of course, the healing power and generosity of God.
2005/10/15 from Sun Valley, California, USA Christina write, "I prayed that some bank funds be released so that I could purchase a camera. I have been searching for this camera for about eight months--to enhance my career and business. A great camera finally became available at half the market value. Unfortunately, my bank put a hold on my payroll check and I did not have the money on hand to make the purchase. I said prayers to Jesus that they would realease the hold provided that buying this camera was the right thing to do at the right time. I called the bank and explained to them my situation. They said they would get back to me in less than 30 minutes. I prayed to God that if purchasing this camera was the right thing to do, right now, then to please let them release my funds. Within 5 minutes my phone rang. It was the bank manager. He said the funds were now available!!! Yes, my prayer was completly answered. Actually, two prayers had been answered--complely--as I petitioned. The first one, for the camera at an affordable price, prayed many months ago, and the second one, for the release of my funds in the bank. I give all of the credit to Jesus and to the Saints. Why? Because they work quickly to answer prayers provided that all is in line with our best interests. They love us and don't want us to suffer or miss the boat where our dreams and delights are concerned.
2005/12/09, from Syracuse, NY USA, Ron wrote. On March 21, 2004, my wife fell from a ladder and was then hit on her right shoulder by a wood/metal bookcase, that she was getting for a customer from the stock room. She incurred injuries to her knees, back , neck and shoulder. After many months of medical treaments and physical therapy, she has resolved herself too living in pain. Loosing wages from not being able to work, we prayer for a settlement from the insurance company to help with the finacial loss. Our prayer was answered not with a huge settlement , but enough to help us. I prayed for 1 month and I credit the following with hearing my cries for help: St Theresa, St Jude, St Anthony and Blessed Kateri.
2006/01/06, From Stuart in South Africa, we hear, "In November 2005 I had to write an integrated examination testing two years worth of work. I know that I did study really hard for this exam but there was stuff going on at home that was forcing me to leave the house everyday and come back late evening in order to get some study time. I eventually went on to write this exam on the 28th and the 30th November and they were the most difficult I had ever written. It was then that I had lost all hope that I had passed and I began to pray a NOvena to St Rita, St Jude, St Catherine and the Novena for Impossible requests, mine being that I passed my examination and be promoted to my next year of study. Results were published on the 14th December 2005 and they said that I had failed the course and had to return to complete the requirements in order to progress. Naturaly I was shocked but something told me that there was sometyhing wrong with my result."
"I then went to the Professor in charge of the course on the 21st December in order to find out how I had really done badly and whethere they had made a mistake on their part. He cliamed that the exam was set too difficult and would follow up on what I and many other students had said. I began yet again to pray the Novena to St Rita, St Jude and St Anthony of Padua continuously until the 03 January 2006, praying that I would somehow get promoted into the next year. I got a call from the Dean of Student Affairs on the afternnon of the 3rd of January and he told me that they had actually remarked all the papers and found out that I had actually passed the course and was allowed to register on the following Thursday in order to begin my studies. I was so overjoyed that my prayers had been answered and I credit this favour to Holy Mary, mother of God, to St Rita, patroness of impossible cases, St Jude, patron of depserate cases and St Anthony of Padua. My faith in the power of prayer has been renewed and it is now truly a part of my daily routine."
2006/01/09, From Rita in Singapore, we are told: "On Wednesday, the 4th of January 2006, my son, Timothy, three and a half years old, had very high fever. I prayed to St Therese and Jesus and St Jude and my mother went for novenas and prayed to Mother Mary.
On Friday, his fever was 40.1 degrees Celsius. We brought him to the hospital and after a blood test and urine test, the doctor told us that his white blood cell count was too high and if his fever did not subside after taking the required medication, he had to be hospitalized. The doctor feared that his kidneys could be scarred or damaged if the fever and infection continued. On Friday, when I brought him home, I said the novena prayer to St Therese and my son said it too.I said the short version so that my little boy could read the words himself. On Friday evening, my son's fever broke. Praise God! I continued saying the St Therese prayer every day and on Monday, the 9th of January 2006, when we went to see the doctor, the test results showed that the white blood cells had fallen to normal range and his kidneys were normal. Imagine my joy and relief! I also saw a rose in the hospital before we went to see the doctor, a sign from St Therese that God loves my son and me and everything would be alright.
I truly hope that all will continue to be faithful in prayer. Pray when you are happy, sad, in need and pray for others. God does heal and his wonderful team of saints care and will help pray to God too. My gratefulness to St Therese, Mother Mary, St Jude and Jesus Christ above all, who answers all our intercessions. My prayers and love to all.
2006/01/30, From Lynn in Washington, DC, we are told, "In mid January 2006, I prayed to Saint Jude and Saint Rita for intervention with a personal favor. Within two days, the favor was granted. I also prayed to Saint Jude, Saint Pancras and the communion of saints for employment. Within one week, I was called for an interview. At the interview, I was hired within minutes of answering the first question. I credit these answered prayers to the intercessions of ALL the saints who heard my prayers, especially Saint Jude, Saint Rita, and Saint Pancras."
2006/04/10 Hi my name is Sandi from Australia. I cannot remember the exact date but in the early 1990’s my husband and I moved with his job to a new state. Because of our financial situation I needed employment to cover our bills. We had four children and things were pretty tough without my income, because of the move I had to leave my previous employment. Everyday for nearly a month I went to the employment office looking for work. As I was living in a regional situation, there was no work to be had. It was a fairly small town.
I was looking through the newspaper at that time and saw a ‘miracle’ published in the newspaper. It said, Thankyou St Jude, for your intercession. And then the novena was printed underneath with instructions on how to pray the novena. I went home and started to pray that day. On the 9th day I went to the employment agency and there on the board, was ONE job, the first and only job that had been on the board in over a month. It was a receptionist position for a Catholic Girls College not far from where I lived. Strangely, I knew it was my miracle as soon as I saw it. As it fitted my employment profile, the agency gave me the contact number to call and I was interviewed later that day. I was so nervous I failed the typing test but for some reason the test came back fine. I was hired and started work on the Monday.
I thank the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St Jude for this miracle. At the time it was very much needed.
2006/05/25, From Sonia, we are told, "Early this year (2006), after numerous years of renting and being unable to afford a mortgage we bit the bullet and undertook to secure a mortage on a small property, thinking at last we could get off the rent-a-go-round. After several weeks of phone calls and meetings and filling out forms we were informed that we simply didn't qualify - no deposit, wrong passports (as in not UK citizens), had not been in the country long enough even to secure a small personal loan let alone a mortgage, along with other prerequisites we failed to meet. Feeling desperate I remembered St. Jude and lit a candle before an image of St. Jude and prayed the St. Jude prayer.
The very next day (day two of the novena) a personal loan we had we had thought was a no go came through at twice the amount we had applied for. I continued the novena for the full nine days. About six days after I finished the novena, despite not meeting the prerequistes, suddenly we had a mortgage at a good rate of interest! Not only that, we were allowed to use the personal loan as a deposit! and the mortgage company agreed to lower the amount of the deposit required - well below the national standard which is 10%, ours is 3%!
We will move into our new place in a few days. I credit the success of this to St. Jude's intercession because the long and the short of it is we don't meet the criteria for any of the above, and yet it has happened.
2006/02/18, From England, we hear from Ron, "I had just returned from the Persian Gulf after completing 9 months duty for the US Navy. At the time I was in the Navy reserves and when I returned home my job prospects were slim. I received a phone call from a friend that had served with me and he informed me about a possible opening for a Full Time Support Position. I had little faith they would accept my package because it had to be submitted in just 2 short weeks. I had informed my girlfriend Ania from Norway and she told me she would pray everyday the Novena to ST Rita. 6 weeks later I learned that my package was indeed accepted and now although I still have financial issues, things are better and I now live in New England. This was truly a Miracle!
2007/05/02, From Annapolis, Maryland, USA, Ruth states: "My husband and I separated last year when I found out he was using crack cocaine. I have prayed very hard since January of this year that he would seek treatment, but did not see any inclination on his part, despite several trips to jail, not being able to hold a job, and looking like a walking skeleton. The nine days leading into Good Friday, I prayed three novenas, to St. Rita, St. Jude and St. Anthony, that God would do something huge in my husband's life. On April 20th (my birthday), my husband decided to go into an in-patient treatment facility. He didn't remember it was my birthday---but God did! I am hoping he stays clean and sober when he gets out. I know it was only through the novenas and the grace of God that my husband sought help. Thank you Jesus, Mary and these three wonderful saints, St. Rita, St. Jude and St. Anthony."
2007/06/29, Angelika writes from Brockway, P.A., United States, that her son, from Giessen, Germany, was unemployed for four years. She was praying the Novena to St. Rita asking for employment. After she was done praying to St. Rita a horrible thing happened. Her son's wife became very disturbed, as a matter of fact she was diagnosed with acute Psychosis (schizophrenia). This sickness was the reason why her son had not been working because he had to take care of their 2 little girls now 4 and 8 years old. They all knew that his wife was strange but nobody knew how sick she was. Well to make a long story short, Saint Rita did not only give him a part-time job. but also is healing the family dynamics. Thank you St. Rita.
2007/08/18, from Manila, Philippines, Janice writes that she took the physician's licensure examination last August 4, 5, 11 and 12 th. She had little time to prepare for it so she did not expect much. She prayed for strength, enlightenment and acceptance instead. She asked the Lord to give her what she deserved. When the results came out, she did not feel miserable or depressed. She knew God answered her prayers because the very next day she got her result, she was eager to start all over again. She is happy because she is more confident now and with a positive outlook in life, she knows that she will pass the medical board exams on February 2008.
2007/09/24 I came to the US in 2001 and after numerous attempts to adjust my status to Permanent resident, I was denied and told that my visa class was not adjustable. A friend introduced me to the Novena to St. Rita, Patron Saint of Impossible cases. Well today I write to inform you that since I have found St Rita's Novena, I filed again requesting permanent residence & I have been approved. I am now a Permanent Resident of the USA. God is a wonderful God & His name shall for ever be Praised.
2007/11/02 Butch, a Filipino who is working as cabin crew in The United Arab Emirates reports the following: "September 13, 2007, I was told by my mother to start a novena to Our lady of Guadalupe, asking her if it is the will of God to permit me to pass the Cabin Crew requirement for hiring in the Philippines on the national's flag carrier company of UAE. At that same open day, I was hired but it required the management approval from UAE then security and medical clearance to officially work there. After 9 days of novena to our lady of Guadalupe, I got the good news that I was chosen. Now, I will be starting my training and I am continuing my novena and devotion to God and to Our Lady Of Guadalupe. Dreams and prayers do come true.
2008/01/02, Liliana from Riverside, California, U.S.A. states, "During late summer of 2007, I prayed a novena to St. Jude. I had been feeling that I could not find a man in my life who would want me the way that I am. In October 2007, I met a Catholic man who is accepting of me and loves me. I do believe that we were brought together by St. Jude. Thank you so very much.
2008/05/27, Maryann from New York informs us that her son was in the middle of a divorce. His wife had left him for another man 2 years before. They were due to go to court on May 29th, 2008, to finalize the paper work. On May 18, she started a Novena to St. Jude. On May 27, her son's wife told him that she wanted to try and save the marriage and stop the divorce. She gives all the honor and glory to St. Jude and Our Lord Jesus Christ.
