The finest present a parent can give a toddler Is a bright coloured and cuddly teddy bear. The acceptance of this gift is not as a toy, But of one's best buddy, a companion, In the home, outside or at Day Care. When the child experiences nightmares, The teddy bear is his security blanket, Comforting him in his fear of the dark And his inability to understand the mind. When reprimanded for innocent wrongdoing, If he does not blame his teddy bear For influencing him for the action, He will slowly retreat to his bedroom To converse with his innocuous teddy bear As if it were his conscience. Although he will become worn with time, The unaltered bond shall never be forgotten. The memories of a teddy bear are lasting!
