Dear members of the Body of Christ,
On Christmas Eve, many of the Catholic Churches overflowed with worshippers. So great were their numbers that many worshippers had to stand throughout the service. For some, this night was the only time of the year when they attended Holy Mass. This goes to show that there is something mystical about the Christmas Mass that draws the best out of millions and millions of Christians.
Christmas Day is popular because it echoes the greatest Feast of the Catholic Church. The greatest Feast, rarely spoken of, is the Most Holy Name of Jesus. And, on Christmas Day, Jesus was born. Some may say that Easter is the greatest Feast of the Catholic Church. But remember, if Jesus had not been born in human flesh, there would have been no glorious Resurrection. The glorious birth of Jesus came first, then came the Resurrection.
When the faithful go to Church on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, it is to celebrate the moment when Jesus came into the world to save their souls. It is to remember the birth of the Divine Child, He Who was free of all sins. Jesus did not have to come. He came because He loves each and everyone of us.
Many shall continue to celebrate the Christmas Holidays until New Year's Day. Then all shall return to their normal routine. While doing so, let us not forget the spirit and message of the Christmas Season: being a christian involves the giving of ourselves in the service of others as Jesus taught.
I wish you all a very Happy New Year. May the Lord God bless you aboundantly in all your needs and those of your loved ones.
In the love of Jesus,
Jonn Miller
