Dear friends of Jesus,
Spring has arrived! The blooming of Spring is a reminder to all of us that we too are called to bloom in evangelization by the power of the Holy Spirit. As the earth puts forth its beauty in an abundance of colors, we are called to praise and promote the wonderful creation of God in all of its splendour.
The seasons echo the nature of man. As Spring sends forth its beauty, we are called to preach and defend the Gospel of Christ so it may send forth its beauty. Spring is a time for planting seeds in the hope that they shall flourish throughout the world.
As the farmer is called forth to care for and weed his growing crops during the Summer, Christians are called to struggle in their service to the Lord. They must feed the sheep through their loving actions and words.
In the Fall, the farmer reaps his crops in order to receive the reward that is due him. This echoes the Christian who, after months or years of evangelization, begins to see the treasures that he has accumulated in Heaven. He begins to see the fruit of his labour for the glory of God. Some of the rewards shall never be perceived until Judgment day. For that reason, the prophet Daniel said, "Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness (meaning "save souls"), like the stars forever and forever." [Dan. 12:3]
Finally, the Winter, it is a time for nature to give the appearance of death in order to be reborn in the following Spring. Similarly, Christians may experience moments of spiritual dryness, or the need of a time of withdrawal from their ministry in order to personally gain spiritual growth in the Lord Jesus. Then shall follow another zeal to go forth as ambassadors of Christ.
Reflecting upon what has just been said, let us never forget that, no matter the season, we are all called to serve a purpose in the mission of the Holy Catholic Church. May the Lord Jesus bless you aboundantly in your work for the glory of the Heavenly Father.
In the love of Jesus and Mary,
