ANGLICAN
Started in England in 1534 A.D. by King Henry VIII (who was refused a divorce).

ASSEMBLY OF GOD
Started in Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA, in 1914 A.D. Developed from a revival movement in the early 1900's.

BAPTIST
Started in Amsterdam, Kingdom of the Netherland, in 1607 A.D. by John Smyth.

BUDDHISM
Started in 500 B.C. in India by Budda, Prince Siddhartha Guatama.

CALVINIST
Started in Switzerland with Huldrych Zwingli who was preaching in Zürich in 1519. Following his death, John Calvin, in 533 A.D., (a well-known Reformed theologian) was influential in the development of Reformed theology.

CHRISTIAN REFORMED
Started in 1857 A.D. through a separation from the Dutch Reformed Church.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
Started in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1879 A.D. by Mary Baker Eddy.

CHURCH OF NAZARENE
Got its name from one of its primary antecedent groups, the Los Angeles, California based Church of the Nazarene founded in October 1895 by Dr. Phineas F. Bresee and Dr. Joseph Pomeroy Widney.

CONGREGATIONALIST
Started in Holland in 1582 A.D. by Robert Brown.

DUTCH REFORMED CHURCH
Started in New York, USA, in 1628 A.D. by Michelis Jones.

EASTERN ORTHODOX
Broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in 1054 A.D. because of a number of differences. Includes the Patriarchs of Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch and Jerusalem.

EPISCOPALIAN
Started in the United States in 1789 A.D. by Samuel Seabury.

EVANGELICAL
Started in Pennsylvania, United States, in 1803, by Jacob Albright.

EVANGELICAL REFORMED
Started in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1934, by the merger of the Reformed Church in the United States (RCUS) with the Evangelical Synod of North America (ESNA)

FREE METHODIST
Started in Niagara Country, N.Y., USA, in 1860 A.D. as the result of a separation from the Methodist Church.

HINDUISM
Started in India in 1,500 B.C.

ISLAM
Started in Saudi Arabia in 600 A.D. by Mohammed.

JEHOVAH'S WITNESS
Started in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, United States in 1872 A.D. by Charles Taze Russell.

JEWISH FAITH
Started in Chaldea in 2,167 B.C. by Abraham.

LUTHERAN
Started in Germany in 1517 A.D. by Martin Luther (an ex-monk).

MENNONITE
Started in Switzerland in 1525 A.D. by Grebel, Mantz and Blaurock.

METHODIST
Started in England in 1744 A.D. by John & Charles Wesley.

MORMON (LATTER-DAY SAINTS)
Started in Palmyra, N.Y., United States in 1830 A.D. by Joseph Smith.

PENTECOSTAL
Started near Topeka, Kansas in the United States in 1901 A.D. by Charles Fox Parham, a believer in divine healing.

PRESBYTERIAN
Started in Scotland in 1560 A.D. by John Knox (teachings of Calvin).

QUAKER
Started in England in 1647 by George Fox.

ROMAN CATHOLIC
Started in 30 A.D. in Jerusalem by Jesus Christ (St. Peter the first Pope). (Includes the rites in Communion with Rome.)

SALVATION ARMY
Started in London, England, by William Booth in 1865 A.D.

SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST
Was officially founded in 1863 in New England. The prominent figures in the early church included Hiram Edson, James Springer White and his wife Ellen G. White, Joseph Bates, and J. N. Andrews.

UNITARIAN
Started in London, England, in 1645 A.D. by John Biddle.

UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
This was a merging of Congregational Christian Churches, Evangelical and Reformed Church in 1961 A.D.

UNIVERSALIST
Started in New Jersey, United States in 1770 by John Murray.
