The visions and
private locutions of
KNOWN AS: "Sadie Jaramillo"; "The Great Sign"; "Messages And Visions Of Final Warnings."
SEER: Sadie Jaramillo.
LOCATION: Santa Maria, California, USA.
YEARS: 1992 - Present
ASSOCIATES: "The Father's House of Victory is an Apostolate that was formed in the Santa Maria Valley for the purposes... THE PREPERATION OF ALL WHO COME TO SANTA MARIA AND THE CROSS OF PEACE FOR THE COMING OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST."
STATUS: Prior to this writing of October, 2000, no one in the Catholic Church has approved, nor condemned, the alleged visions and locutions of Sadie Jaramillo.
1) SECOND RETURN OF JESUS: Throughout the messages of Sadie is found references to the alleged Second Coming of Jesus in the flesh. Examples:
On June 27, 2000, Sadie asks, "What of the Cross of Peace?" Mary answered her, "The Cross (of Peace) has been given to be a spiritual beacon of hope and light, and to prepare (this valley and surrounding areas) for my Son's Second Coming, to draw mankind to the light of His Love and Mercy." [Source: the personal website of Sadie Jaramillo]On the subject of a secular messianism, the Second Coming of Jesus to reign in the flesh, the Holy Catholic Church calls this the Antichrist's deception.
On December 9, 2000, it is alleged that Mary said, "Yes my little sorrowful rose, I praise God for Jesus' coming in the flesh!" [Source: the personal website of Sadie Jaramillo]
On August 1, 1999, it is alleged that Mary said, ""As the Magi looked to the heavens and found the announcement of the birth of the Messiah, so too now! Look to the heavens, for they announce to you the Second Coming of My Son, Jesus, in Glory!" [Source: the personal website of Sadie Jaramillo]
On December 6, 1997 - 3:00 A.M., Sadie alleged she was awakened by the Lord and then she wrote, "...Thus says the Lord God: Howl ye, woe, woe to the day: For the day is near, yes the day of the Lord is near." [Volume 1; "The Great Sign"; Page 423]
On October 23, 1995 - 7:16 P.M., Sadie alleged that Jesus said, "I am coming soon!" [Volume 1; "The Great Sign"; Page 291]
On November 13, 1995 - 1:00 P.M., Sadie alleged that Jesus said, "I am King, and I will reutrn to take up My Scepter and rule with all who have enthroned Me in their hearts." [Volume 1; "The Great Sign"; Page 293]
[Catechism # 675] "Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the "mystery of iniquity" in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo -messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh."Therefore, in truth, all reference to the Second Coming of Christ that are being claimed by Sadie Jaramillo and those claims found in her published books, are not sound Catholic Doctrine. In fact, this work of Satan, the antichrist, is a belief that the Protestants have held for hundreds of years. In obedience to the Holy Catholic Church, the faithful are required to reject this false teaching.
[Catechism # 676] "The Antichrist's deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgement. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially the "intrinsically perverse" political form of a secular messianism."
2) VISION OF GOD THE FATHER: Sadie alleges that she has had visions of God the Father. Examples:
On February 9, 2000, she wrote, "It is a vision of God the Father holding the body of Jesus as Our Lady holds Jesus in the Pieta." [Source: the personal website of Sadie Jaramillo]Like many other false seers (or false prophets), Sadie Jaramillo claims that she has seen God the Father. On the subject, the Holy Bible states,
On August 1, 1999, she wrote, "I saw an image of the world, and hovering over it, an image of the Holy Spirit as a dove. Above Him was an image of God the Father. It was like the image of God the Father that is on my website." [Source: the personal website of Sadie Jaramillo]
"God the Father said, 'I am God and no mortal.' [Hos. 11:9]"God the Father is not a man, nor resembles a man! On this subject, that God the Father is not a man, nor a woman, the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:
[Catechism # 239] "By calling God "Father", the language of faith indicates two main things: that God is the first origin of everything and transcendent authority; and that he is at the same time goodness and loving care for all his children. God's parental tenderness can also be expressed by the image of motherhood, which emphasizes God's immanence, the intimacy between Creator and creature. The language of faith thus draws on the human experience of parents, who are in a way the first representatives of God for man. But this experience also tells us that human parents are fallible and can disfigure the face of fatherhood and motherhood. We ought therefore to recall that God transcends the human distinction between the sexes. He is neither man nor woman: he is God. He also transcends human fatherhood and motherhood, although he is their origin and standard: no one is father as God is Father."The Catechism of the Catholic Church further teaches that to impose our own ideas of what God the Father looks like is to fabricate idols to adore or pull down:
[Catechism # 2779] "The purification of our hearts has to do with paternal or maternal images, stemming from our personal and cultural history, and influencing our relationship with God. God our Father transcends the categories of the created world. To impose our own ideas in this area "upon him" would be to fabricate idols to adore or pull down. To pray to the Father is to enter into his mystery as He is and as the Son has revealed him to us."To claim that one has seen God the Father is a deception that contradicts the Sacred Words of Jesus Christ, "Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Fahter'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?" [Jn. 14:9b-10]
3) THE NEW COVENANT: On June 27, 2000, Sadie alleges that Our Lady told her,
"I am the Ark of the New Covenant and in the secure refuge of my heart you and my children will withstand the storm that comes!" [Source: the personal website of Sadie Jaramillo]It is interesting to note that a VERY SIMILAR message is found in Fr. Stefano Gobbi's alleged private locutions:
"This is the moment for all to take refuge in me, because I am the Ark of the New Covenant." [Source: # 328(e)]Again on June 27, 2000, Sadie wrote,
"Now I ask you to announce to all: 'Waste no more time. I call you to be apostles of these latter days! Give REAL WITNESS TO TRUTH BY YOUR ACTIONS MORE THAN YOUR WORDS.'" [Source: the personal website of Sadie Jaramillo]It is interesting to note that a VERY SIMILAR message is found in Fr. Stefano Gobbi's alleged private locutions:
"Just as for the Apostles the Cenacle preceded the fullness of their mission even to martyrdom, so also it will be for you." [Source: # 156(t)] "The time for your public mission has now arrived." [Source: # 156(u)] "This is the hour of your witness!" [Source: # 156(y)]Sadie makes claims of a new Covenant. Are we to believe her or believe the Sacred Words of Jesus that are repeated every day during the consecration of the Holy Mass?
"Take this, all of you, and drink from it; this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and EVERLASTING COVENANT. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me."Jesus said that the New Covenant was an Everlasting One. As such, another Covenant is an impossibility, unless of course, if one wants to call Jesus a liar. The claims of Said Jaramillo are doing exactly that, calling Jesus a liar! CONCLUSION
When one picks up the book "The Great Sign", the first impression is that it is good, spiritual and sound Catholic material. After all, the book has a "Declaration" right at the beginning where it states:
Since the abolition of Cannons 1399 and 2318 of the former Code of Canon Laws, publications about new appearances, revelations, prophecies, miracles, etc., may be distributed and read by the faithful without the express permission of the Church, providing they contain nothing which contravenes faith and morals. This means no imprimatur is necessary when distributin information on new apparitions not yet judged by the Church. And when visiting Sadie Jaramillo's personal website, there again, a declaration is found that states:
This is a Papal Fidelity Site ('loyal and obedient to The Holy Father, John Paul II, Vicar of Christ, and to the magisterium in union with him').These "Declarations" are very deceptive because Sadie Jaramillo and her alleged visions and messages ARE NOT in obedience to the magisterium of the Holy Catholic Church because they promote and distribute material that CONTRAVENES FAITH AND MORALS.
Reviewing the book "The Great Sign," it is easily noticeable that its content is a lower class fiction, a fruit cake of all the false private revelations, inter-mixed with some Catholic Church truths, in order to give it some sense of credibility.
By fruit cake, it is meant that it is obvious that Sadie has a vivid imagination that is easily influenced by her attending Marian Cenacles, reading and rewriting Fr. Stefano's alleged interior locutions, reading the lives of the saints, etc... To appeal to the readers, her book refers to the Virgin Mary under every possible title that she has ever been honoured with. Her book quotes as many saints as possible, making reference to St. Michael the Archangel and the many places of apparition that have been recognized by the Holy Catholic Church such as Fatima, Lourdes, etc... All of this gives a good impression, echoes an image of authenticity and holiness. But in truth, it is all deception!
The alleged visions and messages of Sadie Jaramillo ARE NOT and CANNOT be heavenly manifestation. As such, they are not worthy of believing, nor of being supported financially.
Those who read the deceptive material that promotes her false visions and messages are in danger of embracing a false hope that can only lead toward disappointment and possibly a loss of faith when Jesus Christ does not return to reign on earth in bodily flesh as Sadie alleges will happen. Spiritual wisdom says to keep away from this deception.
